CVE-2022-23740Network attack vector

Authenticated RCE via Pages build argument injection

Published Nov 23, 2022 · Updated Apr 28, 2025

Argument injection in GitHub Enterprise Server 3.7.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute code through GitHub Pages builds. GitHub identifies improper neutralization of command argument delimiters in the Pages build path but has not disclosed the command, input field, or code locus that mishandles the data. Exploitation requires permission to create and build GitHub Pages with GitHub Actions, and successful injection executes code on the server.
