CVE-2022-23732Network attack vector

Privilege escalation via path traversal CSRF bypass

Published Apr 5, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Path traversal in affected GitHub Enterprise Server 3.1 through 3.4 releases allows remote attackers to bypass CSRF and escalate privileges. GitHub has not disclosed the affected request path or the pathname operation that permits traversal beyond its intended boundary. Exploitation requires targeting a user who is actively logged into the management console, where a forged request can act with that user's privileges.
