SYSTEM code execution via vulnerable embedded Chromium

Remote code execution in Ping Identity PingID for Windows login before 2.8 allows attackers to run code as SYSTEM via malicious web content. The credential provider opens an embedded Chromium browser for authentication and processes server-supplied content through known vulnerable components; Ping Identity has not identified the individual Chromium flaws. Exploitation requires a sophisticated man-in-the-middle position or control of Ping Identity web servers, after which supplied code runs with SYSTEM privileges.
