CVE-2022-23703Network attack vector

Update-traffic tampering via intercepted communications

Published Apr 12, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Machine-in-the-middle flaw in HPE NimbleOS allows remote attackers to modify software-update traffic during appliance updates. HPE has not disclosed the precise update-channel validation failure; the published record states only that in-transit update communications can be intercepted and changed. Exploitation requires network access to the update path while the appliance initiates an update, and the published impact is limited to traffic modification.
