CVE-2022-2365

Stored XSS via unescaped export-dialog note title

Published Jul 10, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Stored XSS in Trilium Notes before 0.53.3 allows local users with high privileges to execute script via a crafted note title. The export dialog passes the selected note title to jQuery's html() sink, causing stored markup to be parsed instead of displayed as text. Exploitation requires a privileged local user to store the title and a user to open the export dialog; script runs in that viewer's Trilium context.
