CVE-2022-23630Network attack vector

Untrusted artifact acceptance via shared resolution cache

Published Feb 10, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025

Dependency verification bypass in Gradle Build Tool 6.2 through 7.3.3 allows remote attackers to supply untrusted artifacts that pass verification. The dependency-resolution cache reuses an artifact first resolved without verification and treats it as already processed when a verified configuration later requests it. Exploitation requires a disabled-verification configuration to resolve a shared dependency first and can introduce attacker-controlled code into later verified builds.
