Authenticated code execution via retained upload payload
Published Feb 8, 2022 · Updated Apr 22, 2025
Unrestricted file upload in m1k1o Blog before 1.4 allows remote authenticated users to execute code through a crafted image. The thumb method in app/image.class.php ignores false returns from imagecreatefrom* and image* operations, leaving the original uploaded payload on disk. A valid blog login and an uploaded file accepted as an image are required; the retained PHP payload can then execute under the web server account.
