CVE-2022-23623Network attack vector

Input validation bypass via shallow object assignment

Published Feb 7, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025

Input validation bypass in Frourio before 0.26.0 allows remote attackers to submit unvalidated request bodies and queries. Generated Fastify pre-validation handlers copy plain request data onto top-level validator instances with Object.assign, so nested objects lack the class metadata needed to enforce their constraints. Exposure requires a generated application that integrates class-validator through its validators directory, and accepted input then reaches controller logic without the intended checks.
