CVE-2022-23619Network attack vector

Account discovery via distinct password-reset responses

Published Feb 9, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025

Information exposure in XWiki Platform before 12.10.9, 13.0.0 through 13.4, and 13.5RC1 through 13.5 allows remote attackers to find valid accounts. The forgot-password flow returned distinct errors for nonexistent users and accounts lacking email addresses instead of a uniform submission result. No authentication or user interaction is required, and the response differences disclose only whether a submitted username corresponds to an account.
