Path traversal in OpenMRS Core before 2.1.5 and other listed fixes allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files via crafted GET requests. The StartupFilter serves /images and /initfilter/scripts without sanitizing traversal sequences, allowing access to files readable by the OpenMRS service account. Exploitation is unauthenticated; Tomcat URL normalization 7.0.28 and later can block the traversal, but vulnerable deployments can disclose configuration or local database files.
