CVE-2022-23610Network attack vector

Account impersonation via attacker-trusted DSA key

Published Mar 16, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025

Authentication bypass in Wire Server before 2022-01-27 allows remote attackers to impersonate SAML SSO users with forged DSA signatures. The hsaml2 key pair fills its empty DSA slot from the signature itself and gives that attacker-supplied key precedence over the configured RSA key. Exploitation requires a SAML-enabled team plus its SSO login code, IdP EntityID, and target NameID; without SCIM, forged identities can also create accounts.
