Bot-owner command execution via missing channel authorization
Published Feb 15, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
Privilege escalation in the Defender cog in Twentysix x26-Cogs before 1.10.0 allows remote authenticated users to issue commands as others. The Warden issue_command action reuses the triggering user as a synthesized message author without checking destination-channel visibility. Discord administrator access and a shared server are required; a server shared with the bot owner exposes bot-owner-only commands.
