CVE-2022-23603Network attack vector

Browser script execution via unescaped upload response

Published Feb 1, 2022 · Updated May 5, 2025

Cross-site scripting in iTunesRPC-Remastered development commits allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript through crafted upload data. The uploadimage handler in upload/server.py returned its file_db_entry value without HTML escaping, causing attacker-controlled content to be emitted as active web output. The vulnerable Flask server must process the crafted upload; successful exploitation runs script in the browser context that consumes the response.
