Denial of service via unrecovered schema panic
Published Dec 15, 2022 · Updated Apr 18, 2025
NULL pointer dereference in Helm before 3.10.3 allows attackers to crash a Helm client or SDK application via a crafted JSON schema. ValidateAgainstSingleSchema lets a panic from malformed schema parsing escape instead of recovering it as an error. The target must process an attacker-supplied schema; a CLI invocation terminates, while a long-running application embedding the SDK suffers a service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
