Administrator blind SSRF via AJAX connection tests
Published Sep 26, 2022 · Updated May 21, 2025
SSRF in Post SMTP before 2.1.7 allows remote authenticated users with administrator access to make blind server-side requests. The postman_test_smtps and postman_test_port AJAX actions accept attacker-controlled hostname and port values and test them from the WordPress server. Administrator access is required, and multisite deployments expose internal host and port reachability through response timing.
