Private blocklist disclosure via unauthenticated queryads requests
Published Dec 22, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025
Improper access control in Pi-hole Web Interface 2.0 through 5.17 allows remote attackers to read private blocklists via queryads requests. The scripts/pi-hole/php/queryads.php endpoint processes an unauthenticated domain parameter against blocked-domain lists without an authorization check. Network access to the web interface is sufficient; the documented effect is disclosure of matching blocked-domain entries, not list modification.
