CVE-2022-23498Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Session hijacking via cached cookie rotation headers

Published Feb 3, 2023 · Updated Jan 28, 2026

Information disclosure in affected Grafana releases allows remote authenticated users to obtain another user's session cookie. Datasource query caching stores every response header, including a rotated Set-Cookie grafana_session header, and serves it to later identical requests. A low-privileged user must query a cache-enabled datasource after another user's cookie rotation; the exposed cookie enables session hijacking.
