Unauthenticated configuration disclosure via ext.php file serving
Published Dec 9, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
Information disclosure in FreshRSS 1.18.0 through 1.20.1 allows remote attackers to read user configuration files via ext.php. The public p/ext.php file-serving endpoint accepts a username-dependent path without enforcing authentication or authorization for the requested user data. Exploitation requires guessing a username and exposes preferences and password hashes, plus the corresponding database when SQLite is used.
