Script execution via unsanitized pasted HTML
Published Dec 15, 2022 · Updated Apr 17, 2025
Cross-site scripting in CodeX Editor.js before 2.26.0 allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript when crafted HTML is pasted. The processHTML method assigns pasted HTML to wrapper.innerHTML without removing executable event-handler attributes. A victim must paste attacker-controlled rich content into an application that embeds the library; the script runs in that application's browser origin.
