Script execution via crafted Word HTML paste
Published Sep 24, 2022 · Updated Apr 22, 2025
Cross-site scripting in XDSoft Jodit Editor 3.20.4 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute script through pasted Word HTML. The paste-processing path accepts Word-marked HTML containing an image onerror handler and inserts it into the editor DOM but fails to remove the executable attribute. Exploitation requires a user to copy attacker-controlled content, paste it into the editor, and choose Keep; the script then runs in the embedding page's context.
