CVE-2022-23439Network attack vector

Web cache poisoning via unvalidated Host header

Published Jan 22, 2025 · Updated Jan 14, 2026

Host header injection in affected Fortinet product GUIs allows remote attackers to poison intermediary web caches with crafted requests. The GUI accepts an attacker-controlled Host value that points generated references toward an arbitrary web server instead of constraining the authority. No authentication is required, but exploitation requires an intermediary cache and user interaction; the bounded result is poisoned content rather than service interruption.
