CVE-2022-23432

Code execution via unchecked RPMB IRQ index

Published Feb 11, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Improper input validation in Samsung Mobile Devices with Exynos chipsets before SMR Feb-2022 Release 1 allows local users to execute code. The SMC_SRPMB_WSM handler in the RPMB ldfw accepts an unchecked IRQ index, allowing attacker-controlled indexing to write arbitrary memory. Exploitation requires local, highly privileged access to a selected Exynos-based device; the corruption permits code execution in the affected firmware.
