Application crash via invalid audio HAL memory read
Published Feb 11, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Improper boundary checking in Samsung Mobile Devices before SMR Feb-2022 Release 1 allows local users to crash the audio HAL service. The service performs an inadequate bounds check before reading memory, so a malformed local request drives an invalid read and terminates the process. Low-privileged local access is required; published evidence limits the consequence to invalid memory disclosure within the process and an application-level crash.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
