Stored script execution via unescaped ignored-link setting
Published Jul 25, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in Simple Page Transition 1.4.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts in an administrator's browser. The Ignored Download Links setting stores its value without sanitization and renders it without escaping, treating injected markup as page content. Administrator privileges and a configuration that denies unfiltered_html, such as WordPress multisite, are required; viewing the affected page executes the stored script.
