Authenticated arbitrary file read via path traversal
Published Jan 31, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Path traversal in Ether Creative Logs before 3.0.4 allows remote authenticated users to read arbitrary server files through its log stream endpoint. The actionStream method appends the unvalidated log parameter to the storage log directory and passes the resulting path to file_get_contents. Craft CMS administrator access is required, and disclosure is limited to files readable by the web service account.
