Code execution via unchecked port-forwarding rule formatting
Published Aug 5, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025
Stack overflow in TCL LINKHUB Mesh Wi-Fi AC1200 MS1G_00_01.00_14 allows remote attackers to execute code via a crafted packet. The set_port_fwd_rule function passes packet-controlled ipAddr and name values to sprintf for an unchecked write into a fixed 128-byte stack buffer. No authentication or user interaction is required, but adjacent-network access is necessary; exploitation can control execution or crash the service.
