Script execution via unescaped search attribute
Published Feb 14, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Cross-site scripting in Pybbs 6.0 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary web scripts through a crafted home-page search value. The home-page search view returns the submitted value inside an HTML attribute without escaping quotes, so an onclick handler can be injected. No authentication is required, but a victim must load and interact with the crafted response; script execution occurs in the victim's browser context.
