Command execution via uploaded FreeMarker template
Published Feb 4, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Server-side template injection in UJCMS Jspxcms 10.2.0 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary operating-system commands. An uploaded site template can instantiate FreeMarker's Execute utility with the ?new built-in, which passes its argument to Runtime.exec when rendered. The attack requires an uploaded template to be selected and rendered; public material does not establish whether ordinary unauthenticated users can reach those management actions.
