Arbitrary file write via traversal filename
Published Jan 20, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Path traversal in Mingsoft MCMS 5.2.4 allows remote attackers to write attacker-chosen files through the template editor endpoint. The /ms/template/writeFileContent.do handler accepts a POST filename and content, then creates the named file without rejecting ../ sequences or confining the resolved path. The public report places the request in the backend template editor, while NVD assesses no privileges are required; impact is limited by service-account write permissions.
