Arbitrary SQL execution via imported model JSON
Published Jan 20, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
SQL injection in MingSoft MCMS 5.2.4 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL through a crafted model-import JSON request. The ModelAction#importJson method reads an SQL statement from attacker-controlled JSON after checking modelType and sends it for direct execution. No authentication or user interaction is required, and injected SQL can create an administrator account or read, alter, or delete the database.
