CVE-2022-23303

Wi-Fi password recovery via cache access patterns

Published Jan 17, 2022 · Updated Jul 14, 2026

Side-channel exposure in Siemens SIDIS Secured SmartPlug before V7.26.0310 allows local users to recover weak Wi-Fi passwords. Its bundled SAE implementation calls crypto_ec_point_solve_y_coord(), whose external cryptographic-library operation can vary in cache access instead of running in constant time. Exploitation requires unprivileged code on the same processor, SAE enabled at build time and runtime, and a password weak enough for an offline dictionary attack.
