Local privilege escalation
Published Mar 9, 2022 · Updated Jul 8, 2025
Elevation of privilege in the Windows DWM Core Library in affected Windows releases allows local users to gain elevated privileges. Microsoft identifies the affected locus only as the DWM Core Library and has not published the flawed operation or attacker-controlled input. A low-privileged account and local code execution are required; successful exploitation grants elevated privileges over the host.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
