CVE-2022-23241Network attack vector

Authenticated WORM data modification or deletion

Published Oct 19, 2022 · Updated May 9, 2025

Improper access control in NetApp ONTAP 9.11.1 through 9.11.1P2 allows remote authenticated users to modify or delete WORM data. NetApp has not published the affected function or explained which authorization check fails before a SnapLock FlexGroup operation changes retained data. Reachability requires authenticated network access and a SnapLock-configured FlexGroup; affected data can be altered or deleted before retention expires.
