Subscriber-level settings changes via unguarded AJAX handlers
Published Jan 16, 2024 · Updated Jun 16, 2025
Missing authorization in ThemeHunk Lead Form Builder & Contact Form before 1.7.4 allows remote authenticated users to change form settings. AJAX handlers registered through wp-admin/admin-ajax.php accept settings POSTs and write CAPTCHA, notification, and lead-receiving configuration without capability or nonce validation. Subscriber-level access is sufficient; demonstrated requests can disable CAPTCHA or redirect form notifications and lead handling.
