Session hijacking via unescaped multiselect group names
Published Jan 13, 2022 · Updated Nov 3, 2025
Stored XSS in Zabbix Frontend 5.0.0 through 5.0.18 and 5.4.0 through 5.4.8 allows remote authenticated users to hijack sessions. The multiselect control inserts a stored host-group name into search results without neutralizing executable markup. A malicious account must first create the group, and another authenticated user must search for it while adding a host, triggering the payload in that user's browser.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
