CVE-2022-23132

Local file access via SELinux DAC_OVERRIDE grant

Published Jan 13, 2022 · Updated Nov 3, 2025

Improper access control in Zabbix Server and Proxy RPM installations allows local users to bypass filesystem permission checks. Incorrect permissions on /var/run/zabbix cause the SELinux policy to grant Server and Proxy processes DAC_OVERRIDE while accessing PID files, bypassing read, write, and execute checks. Exploitation requires local low-privileged access, user interaction, an RPM installation, and SELinux enforcement; Zabbix does not disclose how an attacker steers a process toward a target file.
