Database credential disclosure via plaintext CSV export
Published Jan 21, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Plaintext password storage in MC Works64 4.04E and earlier and GENESIS64 10.90 through 10.97 allows local users to read database credentials. The Workbench CSV export for the GridWorX Provider writes the configured SQL Server password without encryption into the exported file. Exploitation requires authenticated Workbench access, use of the export function, and access to its CSV output; the credentials permit unauthorized access to the GridWorX configuration database.
