CVE-2022-23125Network attack vector

Unauthenticated code execution via unchecked stack copy

Published Mar 28, 2023 · Updated Nov 4, 2025

Stack-based buffer overflow in Netatalk 1.3 through 2.2.6 and 3.0.0 through 3.1.12 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code. The copyapplfile function accepts a user-controlled len element without validating it before copying data into a fixed-length stack buffer. No authentication is required, and successful exploitation runs code in the context of root.
