CVE-2022-23114

SSH password disclosure via plaintext configuration storage

Published Jan 12, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Credential exposure in Jenkins Publish Over SSH Plugin 1.22 and earlier allows local users to read stored SSH passwords. The plugin writes SSH passwords without encryption into jenkins.plugins.publish_over_ssh.BapSshPublisherPlugin.xml in the controller's global configuration. Exploitation requires controller file-system access and discloses configured SSH publishing passwords, with no reported ability to alter Jenkins data or interrupt service.
