CVE-2022-23099Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Cross-site scripting via block-boundary HTML filter bypass

Published Jul 27, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Cross-site scripting in the OX App Suite backend 7.10.6 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute script code. The HTML recognition procedure reads streams in disjoint blocks, so tags and attributes split across a block boundary evade sanitization and filtering. Exploitation requires a victim to follow a sharing link to the crafted HTML file, after which script runs in the victim's context and can hijack the session or trigger unwanted web-interface actions.
