Local kernel code execution via undersized ioctl buffers

Heap buffer overflow in the FreeBSD kernel allows local users to execute arbitrary code with kernel privileges via MPT device ioctls. The mpr, mps, and mpt *_CFG_PAGE handlers allocate a caller-sized heap buffer, then copy a fixed-size header without ensuring that the allocation can hold it. Access to the relevant device node, limited to root and operator-group members by default, is required; exploitation overwrites adjacent heap data and elevates privileges.
