CVE-2022-23065Network attack vector

Stored XSS via unsandboxed SVG asset responses

Published May 2, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Stored XSS in Vendure 0.1.0-alpha.2 through 1.5.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript via uploaded SVG assets. AssetServerPlugin serves uploaded SVG files inline without a restrictive Content-Security-Policy header, so embedded scripts execute when the source URL opens in a new tab. Catalog permission is required to upload the file, and an administrator or regular user must open it before attacker-controlled script runs in that user's Vendure origin.
