Administrator session compromise via stored User-Agent script
Published Feb 9, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in Exponent CMS 2.6.0patch2 allows remote authenticated users to compromise an administrator session through a User-Agent header. The login path stores the supplied User-Agent value, and the User Sessions administration view renders it as executable JavaScript without neutralization. A non-administrator account can plant the payload, but an administrator must later open User Management > User Sessions for execution in the administrator's browser.
