CVE-2022-22939

Credential disclosure via plaintext log entries

Published Feb 4, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Information disclosure in VMware Cloud Foundation 4.x before 4.3.1.1 and 3.x before 3.11 allows local users to read credentials. SDDC Manager writes credentials without redaction into multiple log files, leaving reusable secrets stored in plaintext. Root access to SDDC Manager is required to read the affected logs; the documented impact is credential disclosure only.
