Stored script execution via unsanitized first name
Published Feb 16, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in Hospital's Patient Records Management System 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to run scripts through a crafted first name. The add-user workflow stores the firstname field without neutralizing HTML or script content, and the user-list view renders the saved value so the browser executes it. An account able to add users and a later visit to the user list are required; execution occurs in the visiting user's browser context.
