Stored XSS via unsanitized room description
Published Jan 26, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in Sourcecodester Hospital Patient Records Management System 1.0 allows remote attackers to execute scripts via the room_list description. The room_list form stores the description parameter without effective output encoding, so a crafted JavaScript payload executes when the room entry is viewed. Exploitation requires access to the room-list workflow and a victim viewing the stored entry; the demonstrated consequence is script execution in that viewer's browser.
