Utility crash via omitted custom-tag length

Out-of-bounds read in tiffset in LibTIFF 4.3.0 allows attackers to crash the utility through a crafted TIFF file. For pass-count ASCII tags, tiffset calls TIFFSetField with only the value pointer and omits the required 16-bit string length, so the variadic field setter supplies invalid arguments to _TIFFmemcpy and initiates an oversized read. Exploitation requires a user to run tiffset against the crafted file and set the custom tag; the demonstrated consequence is a process crash.
