Arbitrary file disclosure via external XML entities
Published Mar 7, 2022 · Updated Sep 18, 2024
XXE in OverIT Geocall before 8.0 allows remote authenticated users to read arbitrary filesystem files through XSL transformation testing. The Test Trasformazione XSL page passes attacker-supplied XML to a weakly configured parser that resolves external entity system identifiers. Exploitation requires an administrative account and the non-default test feature to be enabled; disclosed files are limited to those readable by the portal service user.
