Integer overflow in Expat before 2.4.3 allows remote attackers to cause service interruption via crafted XML input. The lookup function in xmlparse.c performs unchecked integer arithmetic while processing parser data, producing incorrect size calculations near memory allocation. Exploitation requires a consuming application to parse attacker-supplied XML; malformed input disrupts parser availability, while broader impact depends on the caller.
