CVE-2022-22782

Local privilege escalation via unsafe installer repair

Published Apr 28, 2022 · Updated Sep 17, 2024

Incorrect privilege assignment in affected Zoom Windows clients allows local users to delete system files during installer repair. The repair operation performs attacker-influenced file deletion with system-level privileges instead of confining changes to Zoom-managed paths. Exploitation requires local low-privileged access and user interaction, and the bounded consequence is protected file or folder deletion causing integrity loss or a service interrupt.
